JeNicholeWrites, Jennifer Nichole, Jen... Me.

Dear Reader,

A lot of you will know me from Twitter, and the wonderful #WritingCommunity, #WritersCafe, #Romancelandia or #vss365...

Some of you will have met me via other social media, maybe some of you know me in real life. Whichever way you've come to find yourself here, I am pleased to have you and hope you find something interesting upon which to spend your time reading.

As many of you have, I've been writing my whole life and it's been a deep, enriching journey from the blank pages of many notebooks to the college paper, alongside many writing sites and now that I'm finishing whole novels and compilations I'm making social media connections and have even put in a few submissions and pitches. I especially love the opportunity afforded by the #WritingCommunity to pitch my manuscripts in pitch events and am looking forward to #kisspitch, which is coming to us on Twitter in the spring.

Though I have written in many genres and mediums, I've always found that my love, my passion lies in the Romance genre. So I've explored quite a few of the subgenres therein and particularly revel in paranormal romance and suspense. Dystopian is fascinating to me and I have ideas for one, though I'm not there yet. I am very passionate about writing romance and look forward to delving in deeper with each book I write.

I have been writing my whole life and it has been my constant companion, passion and outlet; it is a part of me and my life has been my inspiration for every line. When I'm writing I lose myself in my stories and time is lost. I'm in pure creation. This is pure bliss. I hope you have known this joy. I also hope you take it seriously. I feel writing is my gift and I desire to be traditionally published, so I also treat it as a job. I write every day and I hone my skills every chance I get. Books on writing, grammar, technique and words are in my 'tool box' (thank you Stephen King). I even spent years studying the dictionary-particularly unusual and interesting words, like peripatetic, defervescence and elision... though I do my utmost not to use purposely fancy words in place of the right words. I enjoy and strive for clear writing.

I don't think my takes on all things writerly are necessarily original, though perhaps some are, but I do think they are more rare than you'll find abound. I tend to be a grey area thinker and would prefer to discuss a theory or take, than take a side or stance most of the time. This isn't the most helpful way of thinking when it comes to marketing however-especially on sites like Twitter, where having a strong (especially political) opinion is an instant crowd (thus follower) pleaser, either way...

Well, let's get to it then. I have stories to write and a first blog post to share.
